Globe

Notice the big round globe in the picture below. It is unusual because it features a physical map rather than a political map.

Most reference maps, whether wall maps, world atlases or globes, are political, meaning they show boundaries and places as the main feature. Physical maps focus on the Earth's landscape and may be colored to indicate elevation or other environmental features.

In an office setting, I would think a political globe might be more appropriate, so that the young lady pictured could use it for reference. However, the globe may be there for decorative purposes, same as the young lady.
